The fellows are enrolled in a fully structured program:
- daily staff member review of PET-CT requests with fellows pointing out salient information of the patient history
- daily 45 minute lecture on PET-CT issues and applications
- self study of daily cases
- discussion of daily cases with a staff physician
- Daily Nuclear Medicine and PET read-out with discussion of most interesting cases of the day
- Additional self study and discussion time with staff physician
The program takes a maximum of 4 fellows in parallel. The aim is that fellows become able independent PET-CT readers in an intensive program. As typically 15-25 clinical PET-CT studies are done per day in our service, fellows can review 300-400 cases in a 4 week period under supervision. Other material for self-study is also available.
Details for qualification to attend this fellowship program are outlined under “program entry requirements for participants” and “general description of certification program”
